We took Elias on his first backpacking trip ever! A short 4 mile jaunt to Blake Lake for an overnight. It was brutally hot, but we camped on the beach, swam, and washed out cloths in the lake. This was also the first real thing we did since moving into the van! 28 photos

It was a scorcher of a day! Several years ago a wildfire wiped out all the trees in the area. It is recovering slowly, but this means there was very little shade along the way.
